What we offer

Same-day gastroscopy and colonoscopy

Both exams are done one after the other under a single sedation, so you fast and prepare only once.

Polyps removed in the same colonoscopy

In most cases polyps found during colonoscopy are removed right away. Polyps up to 20 mm are removed at the clinic by endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR); in the rare cases that need endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), we refer you to a hospital.

Saturday exams

The clinic is open on Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00 without a lunch break. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy are available until 13:00.

A female endoscopist

Dr. Juhee Kim performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy on every clinic day except Friday, including Saturday. Ask for her in your request.

Health check-ups

Blood tests, ultrasound (abdomen, thyroid, breast, heart and carotid) and endoscopy. Results of routine blood tests are ready in 1 to 2 days, and biopsy results in about 1 week.

Reports you can take home

Your comprehensive blood test results come with an explanation sheet in your own language, and your endoscopy and ultrasound images are sent to you by email as files, so you can show them to your doctor at home. If you leave Korea before we can explain the results, we send you a summary by email.

Visa medical exams and English documents

We carry out the immigration medical examination for visa types D-3, E-2, E-6, E-8, E-9 and H-2, and issue English medical certificates.

Sedated endoscopy, safely monitored

The endoscopist manages the sedation, and oxygen saturation, blood pressure and ECG are monitored throughout. After a sedated exam you rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour and must not drive that day.

Before your exam

Fast for at least 8 hours before gastroscopy or colonoscopy. You may drink water until 2 hours before the exam.

For colonoscopy, avoid hard-to-digest foods from 3 days before. On the day before, eat only a light breakfast and lunch, eat nothing after 2 pm, and drink plenty of water or sports drinks. The bowel preparation medicine is collected at the clinic in advance, with instructions in English:

If you take blood thinners or diabetes medicine, tell us in your request; do not stop any medicine without advice from the doctor who prescribed it.

Please bring your passport — it is required for sedated endoscopy. Foreign patients who have gastroscopy or colonoscopy under sedation must bring their passport to the clinic on the day. After sedation, come with someone or do not drive for the rest of the day.

Prices without Korean health insurance

If you are not covered by Korean National Health Insurance, every test is paid in full by you. Our check-ups come in three sets, so you know the total before you start.

Examples: Set A + breast ultrasound = 330,000 KRW. Set C with the thyroid ultrasound swapped for a heart ultrasound = 660,000 KRW.

Biopsies are included. If the doctor decides a biopsy is needed during gastroscopy (Sets B and C) or colonoscopy (Set C), there is no extra charge. If no biopsy is needed, the price stays the same.

Bowel-prep medicine (Set C): choose Halfprep (2 L liquid, included), Orafang (tablets, included) or OnePrep 1.38 (1.38 L liquid, +15,000 KRW). Each link opens step-by-step instructions in English.

You decide before the exam whether you want polyps removed. If you choose removal and polyps are found, it is 200,000 KRW more, no matter how many, including the lab test of the removed tissue. The doctor removes only polyps that can be safely removed at the clinic. A large or high-risk polyp is not removed here; we refer you to a hospital instead, and the 200,000 KRW is not charged.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a colonoscopy cost without Korean health insurance?

Without Korean National Health Insurance, colonoscopy is offered as part of Set C (600,000 KRW), together with gastroscopy under sedation and the basic check-up (blood and urine tests, upper abdominal and thyroid ultrasound, body composition, ECG, chest X-ray and the doctor’s explanation). Set C includes bowel-prep medicine — Halfprep 2 L liquid or Orafang tablets, or OnePrep 1.38 (1.38 L liquid) for 15,000 KRW more — and any biopsy the doctor finds necessary. If you choose polyp removal before the exam and polyps are found, it is 200,000 KRW more, no matter how many. Gastroscopy with the check-up is Set B (350,000 KRW), and the basic check-up alone is Set A (250,000 KRW). If you want only the endoscopy without the check-up, see the next question. In every set, you can swap the upper abdominal and/or thyroid ultrasound for a breast, heart (echocardiography) or carotid ultrasound; if the new one costs more, you pay only the difference (for example, a heart ultrasound instead of the thyroid ultrasound is 60,000 KRW more), with no refund for a lower-priced one. You can also add an ultrasound: breast 80,000, heart 100,000, carotid 40,000, upper abdominal 80,000 or thyroid 40,000 KRW.

Can I have only a gastroscopy or a colonoscopy (without the check-up)?

Yes. Without Korean National Health Insurance: sedated gastroscopy is 150,000 KRW (consultation and any biopsy included); sedated colonoscopy is 250,000 KRW (bowel-prep medicine Halfprep or Orafang included, OnePrep 1.38 15,000 KRW more; any biopsy included); both on the same day are 350,000 KRW with one sedation. Polyp removal is 200,000 KRW more, no matter how many (only with colonoscopy). Write what you want in the notes of your request and choose “Not sure — please advise”. Please bring your passport — it is required for sedated endoscopy.

Can I have gastroscopy and colonoscopy on the same day?

Yes. Both exams are done one after the other under a single sedation, so you fast and prepare only once. In most cases polyps found during the colonoscopy are removed in the same session.
